ABOUT ME

My name is Pam Harris and I have been breeding and showing dogs for over forty six years. I bred my first litter of GSDs when I was fourteen. I worked in kennels with racing Greyhounds, GSDs and English Springer Spaniels when I left school. I met my late husband Alan at obedience training classes, he had a Golden Retriever that he worked in obedience and I had two GSDs that I was working. Shortly after we got married Alan purchased a Border Collie to train and that started my love of the breed. At that time Border Collies could not be shown, so we concentrated on obedience with them. We bred OB CH MOBELLA RYLEY owned by Terry Hannam and also MOBELLA JEZ owned by the late Neville Johnson who won two OB CCs. At that time Alan also owned three Bernese Mountain Dogs that he showed in the breed ring and I had Tibetan Spaniels which we did very well with. When Border Collies were recognised by the Kennel Club we began showing them in breed classes.. Over the years I have made up Show Champions and bred Champions owned by other people here in the UK and abroad and my breeding is in the pedigrees of many more. I was top breeder in the UK in 1995. I also had a go at agility in the early days of the sport with Peter Lewis. However nowadays I don't show much and enjoy my dogs first and formost for their own personalities and character, I get as much pleasure from seeing them running in the fields enjoying themselves as I ever did from winning in the ring. My Border Terriers are great little dogs with so much personality, they have great temperaments and enjoy life to the full, I hope to be able to get to some shows with them. They are such easy little dogs to live with but they do have a very mischievous side to their character. When I decided to retire from breeding and showing Border collies I wanted another smaller breed, and so the Miniature Schnauzers arrived, I had two Min Schnauzers some years ago that I used to do film and advertising work with, when I lost Missy the last one I didn't think I could bear to own another one as I missed her so much. But when I met my friend Sharon's Min Schnauzer pack I couldn't resist, they are such bright, clever little dogs, they love learning different things and are great fun dogs.
